Street Sense

Below this post (or perhaps above it, sorry), you will see two videos about last weekend’s Kentucky Derby.  If you like horse racing, or just want to see an incredible performance, check these out.  Watch the one with the Calvin Borel interview first, as he explains his race.  Then watch the race in full and listen to the call.  Just an absurd race by Street Sense, Calvin Borel, and the trainer.  Man, that horse had a strong finish.  It’s about time for a Triple Crown.

Or, perhaps those YouTube posts aren’t anywhere to be found yet. Hmm. But, go find the video of that race if you haven’t seen it yet and are even mildly interested in such things. It’s one they’ll be talking about for years, I suspect.

  2. Guess it won’t let me embed video in a comment, but it looks like it’s nice enough to call out the link…

I’ll still go with Barbaro last year. This year’s race was actually kind of slow. Read my last blog.

i followed steve’s advice and checked out his blog. pretty cool stuff. it caused me to spend about 2 hours watching old horse races on youtube. in particular i’d recommend watching the three triple crown races by secretariat.

  5. brent says:

make sure you find the secretariat races that are set to the music from Rudy and from Superman.

Yeah, I just went and spent a lot of time looking at old horse races, too. Didn’t realize the Seabiscuit/War Admiral match race would be there, but there it was.

    Secretariat was a giant badass.

The Preakness should be fun to watch.
