Rush Hour Virtuoso

I’m totally ripping this from TPM, but there’s an awful lot going on in this piece about people’s reactions to hearing a virtuoso performance in the context of rush hour.

    What a truly amazing article. Kudos to Bell for being willing to subject himself to that level of humiliation. I wonder whether the response would have differed at a different station? The numb minds of functionary bureaucrats…

    I’ve seen Joshua Bell play with the St. Louis Symphony (conducted by Leonard Slatkin at the time). He is nothing short of phenomenal. I can’t watch anything with sound here at work but I’m quite intrigued so I’ll watch tonight.
