That is a really fantastic interview.

  2. But, do you really think he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the general election?

Understand, I’m not taking a position on any candidate yet. But I think he has a chance, yes, especially considering every other major candidate in the discussion thus far has substantial electability problems of their own.

Today’s Gallup poll says 5 percent of Americans would not vote for an African American for president. 11 percent would not vote for a woman.

BUT: 24 percent would not vote for a Mormon (Romney), 30 percent would not vote for someone married 3 times (Giuliani) , and 42 percent would not vote for a 72 year old (McCain).

    For what it’s worth.

did you know his mom grew up in Kansas? Sweet and I thought I was going to have to support Brownback! 🙂 Seriously, I think he has a chance. He has star power, he’s smart, and people want to listen to him. Anything can happen in the next almost 2 years, but as it stands I’m very intrigued. Watching Obama in various hearings and on TV, i’m struck by his interest in the argument rather than party lines. He seems to be interested in the actual implications to the country/world rather than on elections. People are open to that. Of course, he’s still new to Washington, so I’m sure he’ll become jaded and changed like the rest of them.

My folks, both fairly terrified of all ethnicities besides Asian and big whitey, and my father a republican taboot, both are on board with Obama.. this says a lot to me. I think he will be the guy, he’s inspiring, he can think on his feet and respond without looking like an asshole ….Hillary and Edwards NOT inspiring, and you know how I use to stalk Eddie… and could the man BE more right about Iraq?

Obama is the first politician in our lifetime that I like to listen to. Came up in the car ride with Nathan, Kieran, and Q….. first inspriing guy ever. And thats en endorsement given Nathan’s statement above…
