I Don’t Live Today

I just saw YouTube for the first time yesterday, for all intents and purposes. I knew generally what was out there, which is to say “about everything”, but it’s hard to get an appreciation for what “about everything” is until you see it right at your fingertips.

The first thing that blew my mind was the music videos, and other than a slight detour to watch the famous “Madonna On Letterman” video, which I had never seen, it’s only been videos for YouTube. Lily wanted to watch several Madonna videos, so we did that, and I finally looked something up for myself, which was this incredible footage of Hendrix playing “I Live Today”, probably from early 1969.

I can’t recommend this youtube.com clip enough. Its of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” as a tribute done at the Rock’N’Roll Hall of Fame. I can’t remember where I heard of this. Might even be from this blog, but it is worth seeing. Great. practically gave me goose-bumbs. The real nuggets is the solo by Prince.

  2. Doug, you really need to learn how to embed YouTube video directly in the blog, and YouTube is made to do it. I’m pretty sure it’s even made to work with WordPress specifically.

  3. Great information here. Thanks for all your work.
